Adam does not have it easy. He has been without a job for a long time and his wife is cheating him. In order to give herself to her lover undisturbed, his wife makes a plan. She gives him a fictitious job in a detective agency, who directs a friend from her. There he is apparently attached to the wife of Bert, the lover of Adam's wife. So he's out of the way. When Adam arrives at the house of Bert for the purpose of observation, he errs on the floor and encounters (and in) Fanny, whose husband is just about to bust Bert's wife.
